Amusement sales are continuing to push forward in the US dining and leisure sector, despite the recent decline in casual dining trends, according to operator Dave and Busters.
Due to the current state of the economy and high oil prices, the US will face a challenging 2008, but this does not seem to have affected the amusement sector just yet.
"Redemption continues to be strong and Sin-N-Win, Slam-A-Winner Extreme, Jumping Jack Pot and Haunted Mansion are currently performing well," said the company’s Cory Haynes. "But we have also had good results with video games Fast and Furious Super Bike, Let’s Go Jungle and Aliens."
Nascar’s Motion Simulator and redemption games Hummer and Sea Wolf are all currently on test and performing well for the operator.
Haynes also noted that the recall of toys produced in China, which were found to contain high levels of lead, is still a concern for the company, and it continues to keep a close eye on the matter, introducing more stringent measure to ensure a safe product offering to its customers.
With the ASI exhibition just around the corner, Haynes added: "We are looking forward to the show in March and to seeing what 2008 brings, product wise. We feel that FECs might be the way to go as families can get to them easily and they have a lot to offer."
