A new ride at Alton Towers in the UK, the Toxicator, had to shut down on its opening day when a pipe burst.
The ride was closed for two hours by the burst pipe, which was near the ride but not part of it. Several other rides at the theme park in Staffordshire also had to close at a time of peak footfall on Saturday.
The problem was subsequently found to be a sewage leak that flooded the surrounding area, leading to the closure of the rides.
The Toxicator has a toxic theme, with aliens, suspect scientific experiments and military overtones - and, ironically, barrels of "toxic waste."
It is a 78ft tall ride that can carry up to 500 passengers each hour and is the only top spin ride elevated above ground.
