A major bulk order for kiosk terminals has been won by Austria's TAB, the specialist maker of touchscreen games for the amusement industry.
The company, which is based near Linz, has always produced terminals for other companies and the rapid expansion of one of them into the Czech and Austrian markets has meant the necessity to build 10,000 betting terminals.
A €50m order has been placed with TAB, doubling its turnover for 2007. The company will now build 300 kiosk terminals every week during next year, using a flexible one-shift production line.
General manager Siegfried Dattl said that the deal will enable TAB to further expand its research and development department.
