Gaming giant GTECH achieved “good” results in the third quarter of the year, CEO Marco Sala claimed.

Consolidated revenues were €730m for the period, compared with €740m in the third quarter of 2012, while showing a 1.4 per cent increase on a constant currency basis.
Revenues from the Americas segment were up 17 per cent to €251m, or up 25 per cent at constant currency. This increase was driven by the sale of gaming equipment to the Canadian market, a 4.4 per cent increase in lottery same store revenue and reimbursement of certain operating expenses received from the Indiana Lottery.
The company’s revenues from the international market stood at €81m, down from €113m last year, largely due to higher product sales in the third quarter of 2012. Revenues in Italy were €398m, compared with €412m in the third quarter of last year.
Reported EBITDA was €219m, including a €30m one-time provision for a machine gaming litigation settlement in Italy. Operating income was €102m.
“We achieved good results in the third quarter highlighted by continued growth in the Americas and gains in the Italian lotteries,” said Sala. “We maintain our disciplined approach to capital allocation, while continuing to explore potential new global operator opportunities.”
