US amusement park Six Flags Over Georgia has unveiled its newest roller coaster, Georgia Gold Rusher.

It opened on Saturday, March 15, headlining the park’s opening day festivities and is the park’s 12 roller coaster.
Georgia Gold Rusher is a free-spinning gondola coaster that reaches a top speed of 60mph and has seven airtime moments. Guests are fired into the course via a linear synchronous motor launch and reach an elevation 144ft on the 590ft-long layout. Guests board one of two outward-facing gondolas and are launching back and forth on the U-shaped track, which also includes dynamic water features.
Manufactured by Intamin, the ride is inspired by Georgia’s historic 19th century gold rush, and the park says that it is an example of its “renewed investment in immersive storytelling and improving the overall guest experience.”
Greg Fuller, general manager at Six Flags Over Georgia, said: “As the park's 12th coaster and the world's first free-spinning gondola coaster, this attraction represents our team's commitment to delivering unmatched thrills, immersive entertainment and lifelong memories.
“With a new roller coaster and a multitude of enhancements throughout the park, this season will build on our park legacy, bringing new energy and excitement for our loyal fans and future park guests.”
