The Israel Sports Betting Board has finalised an agreement with Scientific Games for new online terminals, which includes the delivery of up to 2,000 WAVE terminals with 17ins display units.
The agreement also includes the provision of maintenance and project services for a period of five years with options to extend for two additional two-year increments and is expected to generate US$8.6m in sales revenue and $1.7m in annual service revenue.
The initial installment of 600 WAVE units will take place in 2009. Offer Peri, CEO of the Israel Sports Betting Board, said: "With the modern WAVE online terminal our lottery is well prepared to grow the sports gaming market responsibly in this extremely important retail channel in Israel and to increase our products and attractions to the customer."
In 2008 the Israel Sports Betting Board, which is entrusted with the sole right to manage sports betting in Israel under legislation from 1967, had online retail sales of €290m.
The profits earned are dedicated to the advancement of sport: allocations to organisations, associations and sports teams, allocations for constructing infrastructure and allocations for Olympic sports.
