UK industry personality Ron Vinson passed on Wednesday, aged 65.

Ron Vinson

Vinson was a valued member of the industry and community for nearly 50 years. From humble beginnings working for Lincolnshire Automatics as an arcade technician in the early 70s, Ron worked for many different operators. These included Ameco and Arlington Leisure, repairing all types of amusement equipment.

He then moved to Casino Coin, where he travelled widely installing and servicing casino slot machines. Ron then moved into amusement sales roles at Deith Leisure, Direct Machine Distributors and Eurocoin, followed by product development at John Huxley.

Over 20 years ago, Ron established his own business, AMS Ltd, blending his expertise in sales with the servicing and repair of all amusement equipment.  He built long lasting relationships with customers and colleagues across the UK and Ireland.

Vinson was a well-known and well-respected gentleman who made many great friends over his long and distinguished career. He will be missed by his family and the industry as a whole.

He leaves a wife, Jill, and two children, Jessica and Joseph.
