A new Rec Room FEC is to open its doors in downtown Vancouver, Canada, later this year.
From cinema chain Cineplex, Rec Room is the company’s expansion into the FEC market. The new venue follows an opening at the Brentwood Mall in Burnaby three years ago.
Construction of the building’s exterior is almost complete, with a targeted opening date of Q4 2024.
Inside, guests will be able to experience a variety of attractions over three floors in the 45,000sq.ft space. There will be an arcade, simulators, sports and VR games, as well as a redemption arcade. Elsewhere will be axe throwing lanes and ping pong tables.
The ground floor will feature a live performance stage and a lounge with space for 400 people. Downstairs, the basement level will house the mini-golf attraction, which has the capacity for 108 people.
The new venue is in a building which used to host a movie theatre, with the company working to fully restore the building’s iconic exterior.
