Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix have launched Top Gun: Maverick, a new arcade flying experience based on the classic film franchise.

As a recruit of the prestigious Top Gun programme, players will face off against elite pilots from the movie, such as Rooster, Hangman and Phoenix. They will take on six different levels that see them destroy mission objectives while navigating volcanoes, hurricanes and avalanches. Waves of enemy aircraft will attack and players that shoot them down successfully will earn valuable destruction boosts that will increase their score.
Players can acquire strategic power-ups such as an afterburner, heat-seeking missiles and multi-missiles to help them defeat opponents.
The game features real-world fighter jets like the F-14 Tomcat, F-15E Strike Eagle and F/A-18 Super Hornet which will immerse players in the action, while nostalgia-inducing licensed music will transport players into the world of the film.
Up to four units can be linked for multiplayer gameplay, while the unit boasts dual 65ins displays, a jet engine infinity mirror, a player-facing camera and RGB accent lighting.
The game is available to order now from all Raw Thrills distributors and will make its public debut next week at Amusement Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.
