Blackpool Pleasure Beach is to instal a new £8.72m swinging pendulum ride, the largest of its kind in the UK.
Intamin will build the Gyro Swing in place of the Bowl-a-Drome building, which is being demolished. The new ride has a working title, the Project MMXXVI.
It will be a giant spinning pendulum that swings 120 degrees and will reach a height of 138ft. The ride will seat 40 people at a time, facing outwards with legs dangling.
There is one other swinging pendulum ride in the country, at Drayton Manor Park (pictured), named the Maelstrom, at 74ft high.
