Brighton’s i365 tower attraction may become the highest Wetherspoons in the UK, according to local press reports from the south coast.
Local campaigners want the pubs company to take over the landmark, which is a 531ft observation tower owned by Brighton i360, which is in administration.
There is now a petition circulating Brighton calling for the local council to approach Wetherspoons with a view to it turning the attraction into a bar/restaurant.
Wetherspaoons has so far made no comment. The tower’s failed owners have £51m owing to Brighton Council after the city gave it backing.
