Plans for two new rides on a pier in Blackpool, UK, have been submitted for approval.

The Blackpool Pier Company wants to operate a log flume and Starflyer ride on the South Pier between April 1 – October 31 each year.
The company says that the rides would help to financially support each of the town’s three piers, which date back to the Victorian period.
The Starflyer ride would reach a height of 77m, while the log flume would be 12m tall and have a track length of 220m.
A log flume ride has previously operated on the South Pier, but it was removed as it did not comply with planning policies. A Starflyer ride is already operated nearby during the town’s Christmas event.
