THIRTY years ago there were plenty of pinball makers; well, there were certainly several. Gottlieb, Bally and Williams in the US, Zaccaria in Italy and at least two in Spain - and of course Gary Stern and his company, which he set up in 1986 in Illinois, not far from Chicago.
Today, Stern Pinball is the only one left, and the company reaches its 30th birthday this year.
