An open-air cinema in the middle section of the Hastings Pier in the UK is one of the plans by owner Sheikh Abid Gulzar that is under consideration by the licensing authority.
The plan is to split the pier into three separate commercial licences, one for food kiosks at the landward end, live entertainment in the middle section and events at the seaward end.
This would enable the three sections to operate separately under different opening hours and conditions.
The middle section application suggests an outdoor cinema with the potential noise problems overcome by the use of wireless headsets.
The matter is still under consideration by Hastings Borough Council.
