The FEEL Oman trade show is on schedule for February 17-19, 2014, at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

The show is described as being aimed at functions, events, entertainment and leisure and is clearly intended to compete with the DEAL trade show, held in Dubai in April.

The organiser, Global Exhibitions and Conferences, is highlighting the growing importance of Oman as a destination for tourism and entertainment. Its brochure claims that it is “the first of its kind in the region,” and as such does cover functions and events as well as the more familiar content the industry expects to see at DEAL.

GEC promotes the show as “coming at a time when upcoming projects such as the recreational project at Baushar Sands, the Tivoli amusement park at Seeb and other similar a venues are focal points for discussion with respect to investment and execution.”

Content is listed as amusement rides, sound and lighting, video and digital, consultancy, special effects, entertainment, leisure products, games and play equipment and facilities management among other exhibits.

GEC told InterGame this week that it will source exhibitors from across the Middle East, South Asia and parts of Europe.
