Gary Isner, founder of the Enchanted Castle Restaurant and Entertainment Center in Illinois, US, has died after a long battle with leukemia.

Described as an industry visionary he helped define what a family entertainment centre is long before FEC became a well-known acronym.

At the helm of the Enchanted Castle he established extremely high operating standards and developed operations procedures that handle multiple attractions.

He was also one of the first in the industry to open laser tag and one of the first to have a six degrees of freedom motion base simulator. He also developed one of the largest redemption centres in the US.

Commenting on his life, Harold Skripsky, friend and business partner of Gary, said: "I cannot begin to verbalise the impact Gary has had on my life and others that came into contact with him. So many memories, so many good times, so many accomplishments, so many obstacles confronted and turned aside.

"Thank you Gary so very much for enriching my life and that of others. Your extended family from the Enchanted Castle, my family and all of your friends and family are truly blessed to have been a part of your life and to have shared so many experiences with you.

"The fact that you are no longer physically present doesn’t mean you’re gone from our lives. You will always be present in our memories of you.
