A trade show war is breaking out in the Middle East, following the announcement that next year will see the emergence of a new exhibition to rival the main event, the DEAL show, which has operated without contest in Dubai each year.

CMP International, the UK-based show organiser which currently run the well-established Leisure Industry Week in Birmingham, is proposing to run a rival event in Abu Dhabi, another of the United Arab Emirates.
DEAL is set this year for April 20-22 at the World Trade Centre in Dubai and is likely to be on or around the same dates in 2009. It is run by local organiser International Expo Consults.
The show’s new competitor is planned for a February date at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. It will be named the Middle East Amusements, Attractions, Parks, Leisure and Entertainment show (MEAAPLE).
