A Malibu Jack's indoor theme park and entertainment centre is set to open in a vacant mall in Illinois, US.
The new location at the White Oaks Mall in Springfield, is being opened by Jester Fec, with a targeted opening date of July 1.
The new development is set to include karting, bowling, mini-golf, laser tag, motion simulators, VR, a drop tower, an arcade and F&B, all within at 110,000sq.ft facility.
It will take over a unit inside the mall that has been vacant for the past five years.
The developer of the new FEC has a pre-existing relationship with Simon Property Group, the mall owner, with its most recent opening in Lafayette, Indiana, inside the Tippecanoe Mall which is owned by Simon.
Malibu Jack’s has three other locations, all within Kentucky, while it also plans to open a location in Iowa.
Tyler Hatton, spokesperson for Malibu Jack’s and Jester, told The State Journal Register that the company likes to repurpose existing sites rather than build new locations.
