Companies pulling out of the Earls Court shows in January continue to increase.

In addition to the well-publicised decisions of Bell-Fruit and Project Coin to withdraw in 2009, major Dutch company JvH Gaming is understood to have withdrawn and other companies, Gamesoft and Ace, have also signalled their intention not to take part in the forthcoming events.

There are a number of reasons for the decisions, ranging from the state of the market, the high cost of exhibiting and some discomfort at the mixing together of casino products with those of the street market.

Alan Parker of Gamesoft said: “Our position is that we have decided to take a break this year and will be reviewing our position on future events at the appropriate time.”
