A new £1.2m playground is set to open early next year in Dartford, UK.

Buccaneer Bay Dartford

Buccaneer Bay, a pirate-themed attraction, is set to open in place of the current play area in Central Park, Dartford.

It will occupy two-and-a-half acres and will be enclosed space featuring a giant pirate ship, an 8m tall lighthouse and climbable animals. There will also be a zipline, swings and slides, alongside water features.

Dartford Council leader Councillor Jeremy Kite said that Central Park receives more visitors than any other in the area and it was a chance to provide a space where families can make memories.

He added: “We’ve been working on this plan for many months and we wanted to deliver something very special.”

The play space has been designed to be available to all, with accessibility built into the design and a quitter Tranquillity Cove for those with sensory needs.
