Legoland in Denmark was one of the entertainment attractions that was able to reopen at the weekend in a gradual easing of the lockdown in the country.
The resort, at Billund, also opened two of its hotels, just in time for the Easter holidays. Visitors will have to demonstrate a negative coronavirus test if they are over age 15. Its indoor rides will not be reopened until May 21 when the Lego Movie World will also open. The venue has a number of different dimensions, including Bricksburg, The Old West, Middle Zealand, The Depths and Cloud Cuckoo Land.
Denmark is operating counter to the trends across the rest of Continental Europe, where a third wave of infections has resulted in tighter lockdowns in several countries.
On the other hand, Denmark is reopening schools for its youngest children and will take a gamble on opening other sectors of society - including outdoor entertainment - as its infection rate has fallen recently.
Shopping centres, restaurants and cafes with outdoor dining are now open and indoor will reopen from May 6. Virtually all of Danish society will be open by the end of May.
