A Legoland family entertainment centre forms part of the A$660m (US$500) expansion of the Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne, Australia, which has opened today.

The mall is the largest in the southern hemisphere and the extension offers an extra 100 retail shops as well as the Legoland location.

Central to the redevelopment is a 31m high 7,000sq.m grid-shell glass roof, the firsts of its kind on the continent.
