JVL Corporation has been found guilty by jury of willingly infringing multiple patented inventions by Merit Industries.
After hearing evidence for over two weeks at the US Federal District Court in Pennsylvania, the jury returned a ‘guilty’ verdict. This included the finding that JVL’s conduct over the past 10 years demonstrates the company intentionally violated the patent laws of the US by illegally selling products that use Merit’s patented technologies.
Michael Maas, president and chief executive officer of Merit, said: "Merit is committed to upholding the values of fair competition embodied in the laws of the US. When others do not respect those laws, Merit will take action to assure justice and require future fair play."
