With uncertainty still surrounding legislation for the Italian AWP market, as well as unrest over the legality of video games, TecnoPlay, like many companies, was in a tricky situation regarding what it could actually sell at the recent ENADA exhibition held in Rimini, Italy.
“The problem is that we can only sell the old games until the end of March and then we have to wait until the new legislation comes in before we can sell any new games so it could mean a few months where nothing gets sold,” said Mauro Zaccaria, domestic sales manager for TecnoPlay.
“We have games that are ready for the new laws so we will try and do our best to show people what we would like to do.”
He added: “As for video games, we are fighting a constant battle against bureaucracy. The government is taking too long to decide over something on which they don’t really have an argument against. Hopefully they will open their eyes as I am sure Italy is the only country worldwide that has this much trouble.”
TecnoPlay is however seeing success in the Spanish market and recently completed the development of a new game which the company is expecting to be ready in one month’s time.
