Cashless payments company Intercard will introduce its latest development at IAAPA Expo in Orlando, Florida, US, next week.

Intercard iQ reader

The company will show off its iQ readers and kiosks that use built-in cameras to read QR codes for payment and redemption point collection. Intercard says this will allow guests to use mobile devices instead of play cards to activate games, reducing costs for operators.

Scott Sherrod, CEO of Intercard, said: “With the iQ platform, customers can purchase or recharge game play and use a mobile device or paper receipt with QR code to play games, collect points and even redeem prizes, all without the help of a centre employee. It’s a big step into the future for route operators and owners of unattended arcades.”

Also on show will be an expanded line of Impulse hybrid readers that takes play cards and debit cards, as well as a new iTeller for water parks, trampoline parks and other attractions that dispense wristbands.
