Despite the failure of talks which would have seen Inspired Gaming Group acquired by a venture capital group, the UK's largest machine operator has signed some spectacular deals in January.

It announced a four-year contract for the provision of 6,301 gaming terminals for William Hill, the bookmaker, which will encompass around 75 per cent of Hill’s betting shops.

The open server-based gaming market is one in which Inspired as been a pioneer and now the terminals will be deployed in 1,677 branches of the bookmaker.

Betting shops can now take up to four gaming machines in each location. Inspired’s dual screen Rainmaker terminal will carry blackjack and poker games and also content from the AWP sector.

The other major January deal announced by Inspired was with the other major UK bookmaker, Ladbrokes, for 1,500 terminals, which will contain Category B games (AWPs) using the existing Lara terminals but linked via servers.
