IAAPA is set to expand the services it provides its members by opening an office in Asia.
Led by a new executive director, but reporting to IAAPA president and CEO Charlie Bray, the office will support the attractions industry in the Asia-Pacific region through government relations, education and professional development, information dissemination, member service and membership marketing.
The office will be located in Hong Kong or Singapore and will be open by October 1, 2010.
"The attractions industry is growing and evolving at a rapid rate in the Asia-Pacific region," said IAAPA chairman Chip Cleary. "We expect that growth will continue and we want to further develop the services we provide to our members where they conduct their business."
The association has already begun the search for the new executive director and interested candidates should be a citizen of a country in the Asia-Pacific region and have more than 10 years of experience in sales and marketing, association management or business management, with experience in the attractions industry preferred.
The executive director will travel extensively throughout Asia, New Zealand and Australia and should be proficient in English and Mandarin.
