Stern Pinball has teamed up with the International Flipper Pinball Association to host the inaugural Heads-Up Pinball Championship at the end of October, to coincide with the Big Buck World Championship, which takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas on October 27-28.

Pappy's Jug Trophy

With over US$100,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs, players from around the world compete for a spot at the 2017 Big Buck World Championship, playing the popular shooting game developed by Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix.

Celebrating the 10th year of the arcade e-sports event, players will compete for the $20,000 top prize and to have their name inscribed on the “Pappy's Jug” trophy (pictured).

Coinciding with the event, US pinball stalwarts Stern will be hosting the Heads-Up Pinball Championship in association with the IFPA. The event will consist of head-to-head challenges where competitors will be playing simultaneously on two different machines of the same title. The player that completes the challenge first will be declared the winner for that game, taking home an Aerosmith Pro pinball machine.

“We love the unique, fun challenge of this intense tournament,” said Gary Stern, CEO of Stern Pinball. “Pairing this IFPA event with the Big Buck World Championship makes for an incredibly fun weekend at the Hard Rock. We’re excited to see who takes home the gold and the Aerosmith Pro pinball machine!”
