Games operator HB Leisure has extended its contract with Blackpool Pleasure Beach to manage the park’s family entertainment centres and games.

HB Leisure

The two companies signed a five-year extension to a contract that began in 2005 when HB Leisure was chosen to run the attraction’s skill-based games. It currently provides and manages 22 games and four FECs for the site. This offering will continue next year and will be further enhanced with the introduction of new games and coin-op amusements.

HB Leisure chairman Tim Batstone said the two had developed an “excellent working relationship.”

“Blackpool Pleasure Beach was determined that its games and arcades had to be of good quality and provide a genuinely fun, good-value experience for its customers – HB Leisure was able to provide this, through our expertise and long experience and focus on customer service, enhanced with a creative expertise to develop new attractions and a keen understanding of what drives the bottom line,” he said.

The company provides a minimum of 80 seasonal jobs, normally lasting nine to 10 months each season, and 12 permanent jobs at the park.

Batstone and Blackpool Pleasure Beach managing director Amanda Thompson signed the contract at the Euro Attractions Show in Paris last week.

“Outstanding results and a real commitment to quality and customer service meant that we were more than happy to continue working with HB Leisure for our next contract term,” said Thompson. “They understand that our offering is all about customer satisfaction and are able to fully deliver on their promises.”
