This month's GTI Asia, held from May 7-9, was clearly quieter on the visitor front than in previous years, with some speculating there could have even been a 50 per cent drop in numbers compared with the 2008 show.
However, the exhibitors InterGame’s Asia correspondent, Li Zhang, spoke with still felt the show was a success, providing a platform to meet old clients and take the initial steps towards new business deals.
The number of visitors for 2009 totalled just over 3,500, of which 883 were internationals from all over the globe including Australia, Canada, North and South America, Singapore, Thailand, UAE and India, to name a few.
Although dominated by gaming machines, coin-op amusement did have a presence and some of the major players in the market were present including IGS, Feiloli, Saint-Fun, NBGI, Wayi/GMS and Youal Jifh.
The first GTI Asia China Expo, organised by GTI, is set to be held at the Liuhua Exhibition Centre in Guangzhou on September 4-7, 2009. Next year’s GTI Asia Taipei Expo will be held from May 4-6, 2010.
