Children's ride manufacturer Industrias Falgas of Girona, Spain, has opened a factory in China.
The new facility is 70km from Shanghai and will be used to produce fibreglass bodies for Falgas rides, which will then be shipped to Europe for completion at the company’s main factory.
General manager Jose Saus said that the China factory was not there to make cheap rides. “We will use it to produce bodies and help us to improve quality but keep costs down,” he said.
“It is being run by people we have sent out from Spain and initially will give us about 10 per cent of our requirements, which will gradually increase.”
