Show director Nicola Lazenby brought Gibbs (pictured) in to her team for his 40 years of experience working in a variety of marketing roles in the bingo and high street gaming sectors.

The EAG support role involves driving overall engagement to build the exhibitor base and increase visitor numbers.

Responsibilities include inputting to the marketing and communications function, delivering show registration and badging, seminar coordination and event management.

He will also be responsible for the EAG event website, managing advertising campaigns and crafting social media content.

Announcing the appointment, EAG chairman Nick Harding said: “EAG is at a pivotal stage in its development, having added the co-located SIE Expo and the London Casino and Gaming Show, both of which debuted at ExCeL London in January.

“I am delighted that EAG succeeded in growing attendance by 23 per cent year-on-year and continue an upward trajectory which has seen it register a huge 69 per cent uplift over the last four years.

“In order to achieve our growth targets at the same time as delivering a seamless experience for what is an expanding customer base, it is vital that we bring additional specialist resource to what is a small and dedicated team.

“Combining marketing expertise with a detailed knowledge of our industry accumulated over four decades, Phil Gibbs is ideally qualified to contribute to the EAG success story.”

EAG Expo 2026 will take place across January 13-15 at ExCeL London.
