July 1 is the date set for the smoking ban in all public enclosed places in the Netherlands.

According to the latest estimates from the country, it is widely expected that the ban will cause an immediate reduction in income for the 13 Holland Casinos, the 300 arcades and the thousands of restaurants and pubs which have AWP machines.

In the case of the casinos and arcades it is expected that the initial downturn in revenues could be as high as 40 per cent.
