Speculation surrounds the future of Bell-Fruit and its associate companies Mazooma and QPS, which together form the machine manufacturing division of Danoptra Holdings, the parent company of major UK operator, Gamestec.

Rumours suggest that the machine-making companies are the subject of acquisition talks by major non-British interests. The talk suggests that Aristocrat, the Australian slots manufacturer is a prime candidate because, unlike many of its competitors, it does not have an AWP subsidiary.

The German Gauselmann Group has also been mentioned, although Gauselmann disposed of its 40 per cent stake in the Bell-Fruit companies only three years ago.
