A leading Chinese online entertainment platform has announced that it has broken ground on its first theme park in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province.

iQiyi is set to open iQiyi Land later this year, with the park promising to utilise the company’s extensive portfolio of film and drama IPs for the attractions.
It will feature seven unique entertainment sectors, including immersive theatre, holographic light space, interactive performance theatre, film set interaction area, non-player character experiences, mixed-reality party games and other activities.
There will also be themed dining options, licensed merchandise and more, with the park designed to boost local tourism.
Yu Gong, founder and CEO of iQiyi, said: “iQiyi Land marks a significant milestone in our offline experience business strategy. By integrating cutting-edge technology with our extensive portfolio of IPs, we aim to create immersive entertainment experiences that transport visitors into a dream world of film and TV.
“Yangzhou's rich heritage, vibrant cultural tourism, and innovative spirit make it the ideal location for this venture, perfectly aligned with our mission to reimagine Chinese storytelling through technology and offer a new cultural landmark in the city's Grand Canal area.”
The park will be strategically located just a couple of hours drive or high-speed rail ride from cities like Shanghai, Nanjing and Suzhou, allowing access for both domestic and overseas visitors.
