The amusement park industry is booming in China, according to a new report from IBISWorld.
Revenue from amusement parks in China has increased over the past five years at an annual rate of 14.4 per cent, largely thanks to an increase in the number of Chinese households seeking new ways to spend their leisure time and more effective marketing from operators.
Guangdong province accounted for 25.2 per cent of revenue for the amusement park industry in 2011. Many large-scale amusement parks are located in Guangdong province, including Happy Valley and Citic Minsk World.
