A licence to operate sports betting terminals and shops in the Czech Republic has been granted to Austria's Cashpoint.
The licence was granted just before Christmas and it means that the first location was due to be open in Prague by the end of January 2009.
It will take up a large section within a Gauselmann Group Merkur Casino arcade location in the Czech capital, with both automated betting through terminals and a manned paystation. The company is planning to open more locations in the Czech Republic.
