Major tenpin bowling operator Hollywood Bowl has invited UK cancer sufferers to share their stories over a game of bowling.

The scheme, put together jointly with Macmillan Cancer Support, will run as part of the charity’s Macmillan Meet-ups programme.

The regular sessions provide a warm welcome to sufferers at a local Hollywood Bowl where a dedicated staff member will introduce the patients to a complimentary game of bowling.

It is designed to be handled strictly from the patient’s point of view, with just a sympathetic listening to their problems, giving them a chance to reflect and share personal experiences or discussing matters directly relating to the illness.

Hollywood Bowl has chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as its charity partner and helps to raise funds for the organisation.

Regular meet-up sessions are already under way at the Hollywood Bowl venues in Birmingham, Dunee, Bradford, Glasgow Coatbridge and Rochester.
