The Australasian Gaming Expo, which takes place in Sydney, Australia, from August 19-21, is 90 per cent full, according to Ross Ferrar, executive officer of the Australasian Gaming Machine Manufacturers Association.

The show, which covers both the street market and casinos, is well up on pre-registrations and also on bookings for the conference programme. It is due to be held in the three halls of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand Gaming Expo, which is also run by AGMMA, has been set for March 4-5, 2008, at Skycity’s Auckland Convention Centre with 20 exhibitors. One of the key elements in the workshop programmes at the show will be the recent introduction of a gaming machine electronic monitoring system for New Zealand gaming machines.

There are now 20,000 machines at 1,600 non-casino licensed gambling venues connected by March of this year.
