Alleged problems over UK adult gaming centres’ harm to the vulnerable are cited in a letter from the Gambling Minister, Baroness Twycross, to the president of Bacta.

The minister expressed concerns having received a number of messages on the issue from MPs, pressure groups and the public.
The letter from the minister set out the government’s plans for the issues brought up by the White Paper to reform gambling.
Baroness Twyford disappointed the association by stating that she had no plans to amend the 80-20 rule in AGCs this year but may return to the subject later.
On the subject of AGCs, association president John Bollom said: “We all know that AGCs are some of the safest places to gamble, providing a vibrancy to high streets and community to customers.
"We also know that a lot of the arguments made against AGCs are rooted in misinformation and distortion of facts.”
He pledged that the association would now work to make a positive case for AGCs, “setting the record straight.”
