While the amusements industry is constantly innovating with new technology such as the introduction of AR and VR experiences, traditional games and amusements remain as attractive as ever to young and old alike. Mike Dawber asked industry leaders to explain the enduring popularity of traditional games.
GAMES technology is evolving at incredible speed, with seemingly every month bringing the launch of a new VR or AR experience, and yet walk into any arcade or amusement location and it will be the familiar sound and lights of the pushers, rides and video games that catch the eye and ring the ears.
Traditional games and amusements remain the mainstay of most arcades, be it pushers offering the chance to win a pocketful of change, grabbers which entice youngsters with the offer of a plush prize, air table games to stir the competitive juices or a simple ride to keep the kiddies amused.
