For today’s amusement players, the excitement is in trying to win a prize, Toccata Gaming’s Kevin Pitt tells Simon Liddle.

THE anticipation of potentially winning a prize is the real thrill of amusements. A game that creates that sense of excitement is sure to be a winner, according to Toccata Gaming International’s Kevin Pitt.
Toccata Gaming, the name behind the Pong 180 and Rock’n’Roll Verti-Go games – both landmark products for the company – initially started out as a gaming company around a decade ago. In recent years, however, the Wisconsin-based company has shifted its focus to amusement equipment. It remains in part a gaming company, but the opportunities in the US amusement sector were hard to ignore.
“Toccata Gaming for the last few years has been branching out into amusement type games, focused primarily on family entertainment centres and amusement routes,” Pitt told InterGame. “We saw value in exploring new options. It seems that there’s a niche market there that we wanted to explore and get into. It’s about trying to expand our operation and diversify the business.”
The company boasts an experienced staff of programmers, graphic artists and cabinet designers. This, said Pitt, gives the company the ability to “create pretty much anything we want in-house.”
The majority of its business currently lies with amusement operators, although the company is aiming to further strengthen its position in the FEC market where it has seen initial success. It has a strong presence in the mid-west market but its games can be found elsewhere in the US and Canada. Toccata is “certainly not opposed to expanding” further, said Pitt.
