InterGame looks at how pinball defied the odds.

We asked Gary Stern how many pinball machines there are in the world today. He said: “There must be millions,” and we know he’s had a pretty good couple of years at Stern Pinball, but suggest it is something of a Gary-ism.
The last estimate we researched and used in our 2020 Yearbook was that North America – the US and Canada – had just over 40,000 pinball machines in public places. A usual rule of thumb we use suggests whatever exists in North America, it is not unreasonable to double that for the entire market.
