THE United Kingdom has been at the whim of a turbulent few years.

In 2019, its withdrawal from the European Union was the most prominent issue it faced, with the matter of a “no-deal Brexit” seemingly the country’s most pressing concern.

Flash forward to 2021 and that all seems like a drop in the ocean compared to what the country, and indeed the world, has gone through in the meantime.
