Melco Crown, Bloomberry and Hard Rock International are the three companies short-listed by the Cyprus government to build that country’s one authorised integrated casino resort.

The three applicants will now make detailed proposals to the government. Cyprus is still considering enabling legislation for the operation, which will allow one integrated resort and a satellite casino.
Each of three short-listed companies are interested in diversifying geographically. Melco wants to lessen its dependence on Macau, Philippines-listed Bloomberry is a new company with an operation in Entertainment City in Manila that has got off to a slower than expected start and Hard Rock is owned by the Seminole Indians of Florida and recently announced expansion in the Dominican Republic.
