Groupe Partouche will operate its first casino in the UK after Bath and North Somerset Council gave its approval to a development plans by Global Gaming Ventures.
The council’s licensing committee granted a provisional statement to GGV, which will partner Groupe Partouche in the new project located at Saw Close, which will be Bath’s only casino.
The property is expected to create 78 full-time casino jobs and around 120 construction positions.
“This award validates a long held belief on the part of GGV and Groupe Partouche that their proposals for a casino and ancillary facilities at Saw Close are best placed to bring substantial additional benefits to Bath, which is one of the most attractive visitor destinations in the UK,” said Tony Wollenberg, chairman of Global Gaming Ventures Limited. “We very much look forward to working with the council and our developer partners, Deeley Freed, in realising this ambition.”
It is anticipated that the new small casino will open towards the end of 2014.
