Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) in February amounted to MOP19.74bn (US$2.46bn), an annual rise of 6.8 per cent.

February was largely expected to see an uptick, due to the Chinese New Year holiday falling partially within the month, prompting strong visitation and expectations for increased gaming and non-gaming spend.

The February figure amounts to an 8.16 per cent increase from January’s GGR figure.

The CNY Golden Week period officially commenced on January 28th and ran until February 4th.

Analysts had predicted that February’s GGR would be ‘slightly better’ than the January results, noting the slow burn on visitation during the holiday, which peaked later than expected.
