Following weeks of speculation, Intralot, the Greek gaming systems firm, has signed a contract with Russia's online betting operator, Orglot, for the operation of the All-Russia State Lottery.
Orglot, which is part owned by Gazprombank, undertook the project from the Federal Agency of Physical Training and Sport of the Russian Federation (Rossport), which holds the licence.
The venture involves the implementation of an integrated lottery system covering all the regions of the Russian Federation located in 11 time zones.
The project entails the development of a sales network, and more than 16,000 of Intralot’s Coronis family terminals will be installed in Russia.
“Orglot aims to develop the state lottery as one of the main sources of non-state budget financing of social national programmes and transform the lottery industry of the Russian Federation into a modern business activity, complying with the highest international standards,” commented Galina Savitskaya, the general director of Orglot.
