A Holland Casino property in the Netherlands is reopening on Friday after year-long renovation works.

Holland Casino Enschede

Holland Casino Enschede remained open with certain restrictions while slot machines, bars and restaurants were moved upon the work commencing last August.

Gaming tables were made more compact and arranged differently, with a more “modern” look allowing more daylight to enter the casino, the company said.

“I am incredibly proud of the result,” said casino manager Rolf Paapst. “The connection with Enschede is beautifully reflected.

“Among other things, with a street atlas of the city in the ceiling and in the wavy cloths on the ceiling that refer to the textile past.

“The casino in Enschede now also has the modern restaurant concept Taste Brasserie & Wines. With the renovation of Enschede, our guests once again have a casino that fully meets their needs and is ready to grow further.”

As a cost-saving measure, construction work did not reach the fourth floor of the property.

Holland Casino Petra de Ruiter said: “I am extremely happy for the guests, employees and residents of Enschede with the renovated casino. As one of the icons in the city centre, it now also has the grandeur it deserves on the inside.

“The fact that we were able to do this also makes me proud. Such a renovation in this day and age is not something you can take for granted.

“Investments are under great pressure due to the high cost level that Holland Casino has to deal with. That we were able to build such a fantastic casino in Enschede is therefore extra special to me.”
