In the UK, the GREaT Foundation has reached an agreement with GamCare regarding the funding for both a national gambling helpline service and the provision of treatment services for problem gamblers.

GREaT agreed to take over negotiations with GamCare following the Responsible Gambling Fund’s decision to terminate its funding agreement with GREaT, the industry-led fundraiser.

The grant to support the national gambling helpline will run for three years. The treatment grant, meanwhile, is for a six-month period.
GREaT chief executive Marc Etches said he was "delighted" to have secured the two services.

"There can now be a period of stability and renewed partnership-working that will ensure those gamblers and others adversely affected by gambling will continue to receive the high quality of care and support that GamCare and its partners provide," he said. "The grant agreements are demanding of GamCare in terms of future competitiveness, particularly in relation to transparency of performance, evaluation of outcomes, demonstration of value for money and commitment to continuous service improvement."
